Terms of use
Effective 29 October 2026
These terms cover the Scroll Gita apps for Android and iPhone. By using the app you agree to them. "We" means the developer of Scroll Gita, shown as the developer on its Google Play and App Store pages. Please also read our privacy policy.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older to use Scroll Gita.
Guidance, not authority or advice
Scroll Gita offers the Bhagavad Gita's verses, translations, explanations and reflections for personal study. They are one reading of the text, not a religious authority or ruling. Nothing in the app is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. For decisions in those areas, please talk to a qualified person.
Talk is not a substitute for professional help. If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, contact local emergency services or a helpline straight away; you can find one at findahelpline.com.
Talk is AI, and AI can be wrong
Talk's replies are written by an AI model (Google's Gemini). It is grounded in the Gita, but it can misunderstand you, get facts or verses wrong, or say something unhelpful. Use your own judgement, check anything important, and don't rely on Talk for decisions about your health, safety, money or legal position. If a reply seems wrong or harmful, please tap "Report this reply".
Talk has a daily message limit and may sometimes be busy or unavailable.
Using the app well
Please don't:
- use Talk to seek help harming yourself or others, or to produce hateful, harassing, sexual or illegal content;
- use the Gita or the app to justify violence or discrimination, including by caste or birth;
- try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the limits of the app or its server, or access it with bots or scripts;
- present Talk's replies as the words of a real teacher, scholar or religious authority.
We may limit or block access to Talk if it's being misused.
Subscriptions
Scroll Gita is free to use today. We plan to offer an optional paid subscription later. Its price, what it includes, any free trial, renewal and how to cancel will be shown clearly in the app before you buy, and payment will be handled by Google Play or the App Store under their terms. These terms will be updated when subscriptions launch.
Content
The Gita itself belongs to everyone. The app's design and its original writing, such as explanations and reflections, belong to us, and you may share verses and cards from the app for personal, non-commercial use.
Limits on our responsibility
We make Scroll Gita with care, but it's provided as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available, error-free, or suited to your needs. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or harm that comes from using the app or relying on what it says, including Talk's replies. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
Changes and ending
We may update the app and these terms. If the terms change, we'll update this page and the date above, and mention meaningful changes in the app's release notes. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it.
